By using this Site or booking services, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

I am a non-medical birth professional. I do not diagnose, treat, or replace the role of licensed healthcare providers.

Nothing on this Site or in my Services should be considered medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Outcomes of pregnancy, labor, and birth cannot be guaranteed.

You are responsible for your own medical care and decisions in consultation with your chosen providers.

Serene Waters Birth Services is not liable for any complications, outcomes, injuries, or damages related to pregnancy, labor, delivery, or postpartum experiences.

Always seek the advice of your physician, midwife, or other qualified healthcare professional with any questions you may have regarding your health, pregnancy, or medical condition.
Terms & Conditions
1. Website Use & Access

Serene Waters Birth Services welcomes all families, including teen parents. If you are under 18, you may use this Site and request services with the consent and participation of a parent, guardian, or support person as required by law.

You agree not to misuse the Site, attempt unauthorized access, copy content without permission, or engage in harmful activities.

All content on this Site (text, images, logos, graphics, videos, etc.) is the intellectual property of Serene Waters Birth Services and may not be copied, distributed, or used without written permission.

2. Scope of Services
-
As a doula, I provide emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
-
I do not perform medical tasks, diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, or replace licensed medical professionals.
-
All medical decisions remain the responsibility of the Client and their chosen healthcare providers.

3. Availability & On-Call Support
-
On-call support begins at 37 weeks of pregnancy and continues until birth.
-
I will make every reasonable effort to attend your birth once notified.
-
If I am unavailable due to illness, emergency, or overlapping births, a qualified backup doula may attend in my place.
​
4. Communication
-
Clients may contact me by phone, text, or email during pregnancy.
-
During labor, phone call is the only guaranteed method of contact.
-
If the Client fails to notify me, or notifies too late for me to attend, this is not considered a failure of services. Payment remains due in full.

5. Prenatal & Postpartum Visits
-
Packages include 4 prenatal visits and 3 postpartum visits, each approximately [inser.

Additional visits or extended hours may be arranged for an additional fee.

6. Labor Support Limitations
-
I will provide continuous labor support. If labor exceeds 24 hours, a backup doula may relieve me so you are continuously supported.
-
Continuous presence cannot be guaranteed in environments that are unsafe, abusive, or prevent professional care.

7. Payments & Deposits
-
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve services.
-
The remaining balance must be paid in full by 36 weeks of pregnancy, unless otherwise agreed in writing.​

All payments are non-refundable once made, regardless of birth outcome or changes in client preference.

8. Cancellations
-
By Client: If services are canceled at any time (including last-minute or during labor), full payment remains due.

Change of Mind: If the Client chooses not to use doula services for any reason, payment remains due.
-
Rapid or Unattended Birth: If labor progresses too quickly, or the Client does not contact me in time, payment remains due.
-
Provider Restrictions: If a hospital, birth center, or provider denies doula access, this does not release the Client from payment.

By Doula: If I cannot attend and no backup doula is available, a partial refund may be considered at my discretion.

9. Travel & Location
-
Services are provided within 30 miles of Hampton Roads.

Additional mileage or travel fees may apply for services outside this area.

10. Confidentiality

All personal and medical information shared with me will be kept confidential, unless disclosure is required by law or with the Client’s written consent.

11. Liability & Acknowledgment of Risk
-
Doulas are non-medical professionals. I cannot guarantee specific birth outcomes.

By booking services, the Client agrees to release and hold harmless Serene Waters Birth Services from liability for pregnancy, labor, delivery, or postpartum outcomes.

The Site is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical, legal, or professional advice.

12. Code of Conduct

I will always provide professional, respectful care.

I reserve the right to withdraw services if the environment is unsafe, abusive, or prevents professional care. Payment will remain due in full.

13. Website Disclaimer

Content on this Site is provided “as is.” I do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content.

I reserve the right to modify, suspend, or remove content from the Site at any time.

14. Intellectual Property
